Quote of the Day

Me:  It used to be so much easier.  I want to go back to when things were easier.  My children celebrated their birthday here because they lived here and they were here for Thanksgiving because nobody else wanted them to eat at their house.

This was more about my complaining about how hard it is to coordinate special family things than it is about who is where when.

  1. You and Rob are more than welcome to accompany us to my family's Thanksgiving Dinner. Shira too! I ordered Petite Fours : )

  2. You're so sweet. Like petite fours sweet, even!

I'm actually looking forward to a quiet holiday. Which probably means it won't be. Quiet, I mean. :)

  3. Any thing at my parents house when my family is all together is noisy. I don't think we know the definition of quiet when we get together. There is always yelling and laughing. Good times and good food.

My family has never had petite fours before so I thought it'd be a nice treat. I also ordered a snack tray with the little cheeses, meats, and sauces. Came with free truffles : ) I told Joe that I want to start a tradition for our family that is a little bit of his family traditions and a little bit of my family traditions.

The captcha for this comment by the way is creama. Makes me want to brew another cup of coffee : )

  4. That is so wonderful. We've tried to incorporate some of Rob's traditions with our own. That's why we started giving pajamas (or at least bottoms) on Christmas Eve.

Hopefully I'll be gainfully employed soon and we'll be able to give gifts again. I really want to get back to having Christmas with all the trimmings!

We're ordering things this week. Now that I know who will and won't be here, I can plan accordingly.
