Three Weeks

Three weeks from today it will be my birthday.  And it's a big one.

For that reason, I'm going to invite you to ask me to write about anything.

Today I take the final certification exam for the course I've been taking and I'll be free and clear to write, read, and ruminate.  I'm offering you a chance to narrow my rambling mind a bit and give me something, anything, upon which to focus.

Are you up to the challenge?

  1. Happy Early Birthday! Let's see...what shall I ask you to write about? How about...If you could do anything in the world, and you knew you could not fail, what would you do? Where would you go?

    1. Okay. I've seen this question before and . . . I definitely have some things from my heart I'd like to share. So you can count on something manifesting in the coming days (or maybe weeks, depending on how my time flows).

  2. OK. Here's an idea. Take three random stories from a local newspaper or local news website and write a story that links all three ideas together as one whole story.

    1. Ahhhh . . . my initial reaction was "Oh dear, no." Mostly because I try to avoid discussing politics in my blog and because most of the news I read is political. As luck would have it, I read something the other day that made me sigh. Then I read something else that was sort of a reply to the other. That's two random things. Now, I don't know that I'll go out of my way to seek out a third but I will go out of my way to keep my eyes open for a third. Should one not present itself, I'll write something about the two. It won't be a story, however, although when I read both articles I thought "This could inform a story I am mulling over." In other words, I'd already considered the potential of both things to help me with a story and now I'm blabbering. My son just informed me that I should get ready. For what, I do not know. But I am off to be ready, oh boy!

Oh . . . I'll probably write a personal essay in response to the two (or maybe three) articles. And, if my muse should lead me to write that story that seems to be simmering, I'll be sure to let you know should I post a sample of it. :)

    3. Not much chance of that. I can surely be called many things but derivative I'm not.
