Satia's Announcements: Part Two

Second announcement a day late.  Sorry about that. Apparently, the carpet installers forgot they were supposed to come here and install the carpet.  So Rob and I waited and waited and . . . This is what happens when you say, “And I’ll write my blog post when the carpet is being installed.”

By the time they were done and Joe and Erin and Bibi left, it was dinner time and, because I was sooooo tired having I’d slept poorly the night before being up since 2am, I just didn’t have it in me to write the blog post.

So without further ado . . .

My new blog will be a return to my roots, as it were.  Once upon a time, I pretty much shared all sorts of random things in this blog, including some of my favorite online finds, pictures from my week, and, of course, my reviews.  Then I chose to put my reviews elsewhere.  But now I want to go back to having them all in one place.  Although I’ll continue updating my review blog here on blogger, I will be posting reviews on my new blog as well.  No more need to subscribe to two blogs (especially helpful since a few people have told me that they have been having a problem with subscribing to both blogs).

Yes, there will be “Silently Sharing Satia” posts and reviews and updates about my lovely family and my weight loss journey and all of the randomness that is a part of my wonder-full life.  And there are so many things coming up this year.  Why, this weekend alone has my birthday and then company coming and still more coming a few weeks later.  I mean, it’s just been such a crazy year already.  I honestly thought, “When the renovations are done, things will slow down and . . .”

They haven’t.  Just like yesterday, when I counted on the carpet being installed at a certain time and knew I would write a blog post then, I am not going to wait for my life to slow down to start getting things happening.  Clearly, life is not going to slow down for me any time soon so I may as well start catching up!

Rob pointed out, my yoga pants are loose!

Satia's Announcements: Part One

To be honest, this decision has been a long time coming but I'm going to be relocating my blog.  I'll officially announce the new location as soon as I have it set up.  But as of my birthday on Saturday, I will no longer update this blog except to link to my new blog.

Why?

A while ago, google bought out blogger.  At that point, every time there was an issue, getting said issue resolved became impossible.  Don't believe me?  Look at some of my older blog posts.  You'll see a lack of paragraphing.  All of the formatting just disappeared.  There are also other ongoing issues, ones I've reported numerous times, with screencaps.  And after years of this, not one of the issues has been fixed.

Not. One. Issue. Has. Been. Fixed.

Then, recently, a few of my readers complained because
  • they couldn't subscribe
  • they couldn't leave a comment
  • and I couldn't leave comments to their comments when their comments showed up
Which would be fine, I suppose, if this would stop spammers from leaving comments but that hasn't happened.  I get a few a week.  Today I had this ridiculousness:
Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A great read. Commodity Trading Strategy
Hint:  Those last three words were a link.  I could do with some pics to drive the message home?  Ummm . . . yeah.  I guess the pics I've been posting are stalling my message on the side of the road.

Anyway, the point is, if my readers cannot interact with me and I can't interact with them, it seems it's time for me to pack up and move along.  I'll be leaving my book review blog here on blogger for now.  Once I am comfortable with the new platform I'll be using for my new blog, I'll see how I feel about migrating my reviews there as well.

So shame on google for not taking care of their customers.  Shame on them for making a really great blogging platform a mess.  Shame on them for not standing by the people who use and truly want to like their products.

And this will be the first of a gradual migration in my online life away from all things google.  It may take me a long time.  It took me a long time to reach this decision about blogger but once the decision is made . . .

Tick tick tick . . .

21 Day Fix Results

Woohoo!

Can you imagine what those numbers might have been had I been able to do the high impact moves?  I’m still in a kind of shock at those numbers.  And I didn’t lose anything in my chest!  Not a single inch!  Not even a fraction of an inch!

It shouldn’t come as a surprise when I say that I’ll be doing 21 Day Fix again starting on 6 April.  Reflecting on my experience with doing this the past 21 days, I have a game plan in place.  I started last time using no weights during the first week then added only 3 lb weights during the second week.  Then I added a second pair of weights and even did a couple of days doubling up the workouts.

This time around, I’ll begin at 3 & 5 lbs with the intention of doing double workouts every day the last week.  Round 2 will probably be followed by Round 3 and however many more rounds it takes for me to reach my goal, increasing my weights gradually.  I’ll continue using the bike and doing my morning yoga. I’ll be active, taking care of my knee by using the bike and continuing to push myself to lose weight.

So yes, this week’s weigh-in is impressive.  Next Saturday is my birthday.  I don’t plan on being disciplined on my birthday.  I will exercise but I won’t watch what I eat.  I won’t even track what I eat.  I’ll enjoy what I eat, be indulgent every minute.

In the meantime, if you’re thinking of buying 21 Day Fix for yourself, please contact the awesome Coach Stephanie.  I won’t become a Beachbody coach but I’m happy to send other people to this lovely young woman who encouraged me in my 21 day journey and who I know will be there to encourage you as well.
Coach Stephanie:

And there will be TWO announcements, one tomorrow and one the day after.
