That Time of the Month

Today I'm going to publish all of the comments I've received since hurting my finger and being relatively AWOL.  I'll reply to them all as well.  Yay!

I'm gradually coming back. Not fully healed yet but getting there.  So ask me anything or tell me anything.  Give me something to write, other than more whining about my pathetic finger.

Who Knew? Not I!

Did you know that windows cons with the speech recognition software?  Apparently it does and obviously I did not know this.  I am writing this blog post using this software so if my voice sounds a different from my writing voice, or a mime writing voice typically sounds, at least now you have a context for it.

My finger is still healing and the trees as I could probably type this blog post more quickly with my seven good fingers than I can dictating it into a microphone.  However, according to the software tutorial dictating my speech to text will actually be faster than my typing.  I don't think the tutorial knows how fast I can type when I have all of my fingers.

There is a learning curve inherent was using this software.  Again, according to the tutorial, the software learns the more you use it.  That's why I'm using it to write this blog post.  That and I didn't want to leave my blog dormant for the duration of my finger's healing.  Although in my finger is no longer bandaged as much as it once before, I am still keeping it in a splint to remind myself not to use it.  You can't imagine how often I find myself bumping the splint or using it to push something or grab something and if it weren't for the protection my finger would probably be a lot less yield than it is at this point.

So yay splint!

Anyway, I hope you'll forgive my ongoing silence.  Perhaps as I become more accustomed to this software and as it progresses in understanding my cadence I will be more interested in learning how to use it so that I become comfortable doing so.  In the meantime, I am using it to type emails and right brief notes.  And who knows?  But this time next week and maybe so at ease with dictating rather than typing the blog post that out actually get back into the habit of blogging again.  I would suggest we cross our fingers; unfortunately, I am unable to do so and it seems unfair to ask anyone else to do it for me.

I'll be back.  I still don't know when.

Having my finger splinted and my thumbnail wrapped, didn't stop the fun.
